How Fast They Grow

Newborn to Infant Milestones. When you welcome home your new baby it may seem like they will never sleep through the night or ever get enough to eat but then in a blink in the eye they are 3 months old and holding their head up all by themselves.

Sleeping in longer stretches and staying awake longer during the day. It goes by so quickly you may not notice they’ve outgrown all their newborn outfits and diapers.

We now enter the infant phase so many milestones will be happening month by month lets get in to it. We definitely recommend you start a journal about their milestones if you haven’t started one alrealr. Check out our Baby Milestone Tracker Book Available for download.

1st Month

It may not seem that babies do much during the first month these are some milestones to lookout for in the 1st month, Raising their hands to their face. Moving their head from side to side. Grasping their fists tightly. Being alert to sounds. Recognizing faces. Eating every three to four hours on a diet of formula or breastmilk.

2nd Month

During the next few months your baby will start to slowly amaze you by the small things they do, Raising their head and chest when laying on their stomach. Making coos and gurgling noises.

3rd Month

New skills emerge every day Unclenching their fists and reaching for objects. Following objects with their eyes. Smiling at people, especially caregivers. If you are concerned about your babies development speak with your healthcare provider.

4-6 Months

It seems in these months your babies personality really shines through as they start rolling over and reaching with both arms. Holding their head steady. Laughing and babbling. Recognizing familiar people and identifying strangers. Responding to their name. Sitting upright without support by the end of this period.

7-9 Months

Time is flying by and your baby is no really trying to communicate and have an opinion about life, using voice to express feelings of happiness or sadness. Playing peek-a-boo. Understanding the word “no.” Distinguishing favorite toys and books.

10-11 Months

By this time youve noticed your little trying to assert thier independence by Speaking first words like “mama” and “dada.” Pulling themselves up to stand.Holding, shaking and throwing objects. 1 Year

You’ve made it through your first year by now your little one should be starting to walk, standing on their own or walking by holding onto furniture. Holding and using objects like a crayon or a cup. Speaking with tone and inflection like “uh-oh!” Attempting to imitate words. Copying gestures. its amazing how fast they grow. Take a second and congratulate your self on a job well done they couldn’t of done it without you.

What’s Next
